Question: What would you do differently today if you took 10% more responsibility for your relationship with money?
Answer: I don’t know if I would have to take 10% more responsibility with my relationship with money. For example, they recommend at least 10% of your money go to a retirement account. Right now, I’m saving 16% a month. When I do a workshop and get paid, I keep a portion in personal emergency account and the rest goes to our (me and Rebecca) joint emergency account. So I believe I’m taking responsibility the right way. And now that I stopped by golf equipment, I’m not spending money on that. Side note: I actually just purchased a used Driver (PING G425 Max) – and will pay about $30 for it because I’m trading in two driver I currently have that I’m getting premium credit for. I purchased both for lower amounts, so I like the fact that the new/used Driver I’m getting is really cheap. Anyway, I like the plan that I’ve set for our finances.
On another note…I’m at the airport getting ready for my trip to Durango, Colorado to do a full-day workshop at Fort Lewis College. I’m excited about the opportunity because I have so many interesting things going on these days with Life Design Catalyst work.
I took a mental health half-day yesterday because of work. So, how do I spend my day? Playing golf, of course, which is my way of relaxing. To make a long story short, I finally achieved my quest to break 80, which has been something I’ve been trying to do every since I picked up my first club in the early 1990’s. I did take a little time off from the game at one point, but started back again about 4 years ago. I’ve shot 80 about 11 times – and yesterday I kept my head and my nerves together to shoot a 78. Now, I’m ready for my next sporting adventure, which will be pickleball.
FLC is my alma mater and I am so happy to hear that you are sharing LDC with the students there! I wish I was with you all. : )
Hi Cathy! Great group of people here; went out to dinner with a couple of the academic coaches last night and had a great, great time! Look forward to the workshop today! Hope all is well with you; can’t wait to connect again soon!
