Question: As you think back on the last week, what are the predominant feelings you remember experiencing?
Answer: Really, there’s only one predominant feeling that I’m experiencing right now – what am I going to do about my work situation in 2022? There’s really nothing else that I’m focused on right now, other than I can’t stay at a place that’s not supporting Life Design Catalyst work. I’ve been somewhat proactive in moving forward in identifying potential opportunities; but now, it’s time to get my ass in gear. This is the last full week of October; November 1st is a week from tomorrow (Monday), so it’s time for me to really get connected with potential opportunities. I’ve been told that I will be getting a caseload of students to “advise” for the Spring Semester – basically registration and scheduling, even though they’ve been told that I won’t do it. Maybe they’re testing me to see if I would really leave – and the answer is a RESOUNDING YES! Something magical will have to happen to get me to stay, but I don’t think there’s anyone on that campus that gets what I’m trying to do, even with lots of positive data supporting the work. So, I am exploring different paths that I can take, both here in North Carolina and beyond. I spent a short amount of time planning my workout needs for the rest of 2021, since I should hit my targets in running/walking/elliptical and indoor/outdoor cycling this week (I hit my goal of 10,000 push-ups and sit-ups this past week). So I was plotting, at least in my head, how I can get to 7,000 exercise miles, where 3 miles biking = 1 mile walking. With 8 weeks left, if I can get in 23 miles per week walking/elliptical (for a total of 1,184 for the year) and 58 miles biking (for a total of 3,464 for the year), I will get to my 7,000 exercise miles that I’m hoping to achieve, for the 3rd year in a row, as well as my 7,000,000 steps. So, I guess I’ve been thinking about that as well. And I FINALLY sent out the email to the LDC Tribe about the December Life Design Catalyst Training, being held at UNCG from December 13-15, 2021. I’m hoping that we can get some “interesting” people to attend, like administrators from the North Carolina Community College System. I feel that LDC work could be implemented and useful in some capacity for 58 schools in the system vs. one School at UNCG. That’s at least my hope. So, here’s to moving forward!
