Question: Who is (or has been) your favorite person to travel with?

Answer: My favorite person to travel with was Megan Cayton (previously Megan Delph). When we would travel for Life Design Catalyst Trainings or conferences, we had the best time hanging out. We would spend the day facilitating Trainings (usually 3 days) and the evenings somewhere drinking beers. We had some great meetings, where we not only had engaging sessions, but would do fun stuff afterwards, like shop at a local bookstore or eat endless appetizers at TGIFridays. We also had on really “interesting” Training, where we had three days of little to no engagement from the participants. If you want Megan to smile, just say the words, “University of Wisconsin-Plattville.” For that Training, we were in a “local establishment” every night! And that’s all I’m going to say about that! Megan has been a great traveling companion and an even better friend! She has been the one person at UNCG that has gotten me through the tough times at the institution – and it’s been a treat to be able to work together again as this Life Design Catalyst journey may be ending (at UNCG) in 2022.

Other Stuff

Here’s another interesting read from this morning’s mailbox. It’s pertaining to business, but in a different way. If you are looking for key business metrics, it’s addresses one that most business-minded people don’t consider: your health. Bottom line – if you don’t take care of YOU, your business will suffer. Plain and simple. The same idea can be applied to our students – if you don’t take care of YOU, your education will suffer. And that’s playing out over and over and over again. Before I go on, here’s the article:

Being in the School of Health and Human Sciences, you would think that we would be leading proponents in helping students focus on their health and well-being first, education second (or third or an even a lower priority). And yet, there are ZERO conversations about incorporating health and well-being as a foundational component in our School. So sad…

More coming about this soon…
