Question: What is one thing you could stop doing today to improve your mental health?

Answer: I could stop dwelling on what I don’t have and what I expect and spend more focused on appreciating what I do have. I shared with my friend Greg on Monday night that I had two instances where I could have been killed or seriously injured, first when I had my blood clot in my leg and lung, second when I got hit from behind at a high rate of speed on the highway. For me, those are signs from God that’s telling me that my work on this planet isn’t done and that I need to appreciate all of the good things in my life, like Amanda and Bethany (my daughters), Rebecca (my wife), Laci (our dog), my dear friends, and the hundreds of friends and family in the Life Design Catalyst tribe. Every day is a treat – and I need to recognize that even more. In the grand scheme of things, it’s important to remember to be grateful for everything that I have. As I was walking around Cincinnati two days ago, I had 8 homeless people come up to me and ask for money…and it’s was heartbreaking to see. And having been homeless years ago in college, it definitely brings back memories. But I found a way to make it through; other are so fortunate. Anyway, appreciation more than expectations…
