reading books

Today’s Theme: The value of reading books. I love reading books; in fact, I have somewhere between 2,500 and 3,000 in our upstairs “library” – or our room with a lot of books!

For a quick break, I just finished reading the article, “Why Reading Books Makes You a Better Person, According to Science” by Christina DesMarais. I was never a big reader; however, I become inspired to read again by my daughters Amanda and Bethany, who were voracious readers when they were young children.

Here’s a link to the short article:

“Why Reading Books Makes You a Better Person, According to Science” – https://www.inc.com/christina-desmarais/why-reading-books-makes-you-a-better-person-according-to-science.html

So, if you are looking for way to improve your life, start by reading. If it’s something you don’t do much, start small with a page or two a day. Don’t know what to read? At the end of the article, she provides links to:

  • 22 books highly recommended by successful people,
  • 19 books successful people read, and
  • 13 books high achievers say helped them get ahead.

And just so you know, I’ve read about 1/3 of the books on the list!

Now, it’s your turn!
