3 levels of self-awareness

I am now convinced that Mark Manson was put on this earth to get me to look at things in a new and different way.  Every time I read one of his articles, I always end with “Ummmmmm…”

A lot of this blog is devote to articles on self-awareness, whether focused on purpose, meaning, vision, and the like.  And then he comes out with an article that basically states that we shouldn’t just focus on self-awareness, but at least start with self-acceptance.  Again, Ummmmmmm…

Don’t believe me?  Check out the article here:

“The Three Levels of Self-Awareness” – https://markmanson.net/self-awareness

I’m still a big fan of self-awareness and believe in its value, but self-awareness must be coupled with self-acceptance in order to be most effective.  Interestingly enough, I’m reading Brene Brown’s “Braving the Wilderness” right now, working to define what “true belonging” means to me.  That will be another blog post.

Have a great day!
