I was looking back at a few old articles this morning; today’s article was definitely a topic that made me think a little deeper.
The article is written by a high school teacher, sharing his thoughts about his students and the pressure to turn them into adults – before they are adults. Makes me wonder if we’re putting too much pressure on young people to be adults (or at least think like adults) before they are ready – and allow them to “just be kids?”
Here’s a link to this interesting article:
- “School Is About More Than Training Kids to Be Adults” – https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2015/02/school-is-about-more-than-training-kids-to-be-adults/385475/
As a parent, I wonder if I was guilty for pushing my daughters to be adults too soon.
Definitely something to think about…
