As I think about my role in education in the future, I was intrigued by the article, “Focusing on What is Going to Stay the Same in Education” by AJ Juliani. I was intrigued because he states that all we hear in the news is how education is going to change in the next 5…10…20 years – but no one talks about the things that will stay the same.
Of the six truths that he shares, my favorite is: Truth #4: Our job is not to “prepare” students for something. Our job is to help students prepare themselves for anything.
My belief is that technology is a way to supplement, not replace, the six truths. And my job is to help students understand and navigate a path that matters to them and that they own.
