Question: How do you feel about your age?
Answer: That’s a funny question for me, because it’s something that I think about at least once a week – and not in a negative way. I just turned 58 years old a couple of days ago and I feel great! When I worked out the morning of my birthday, I started by thanking God for the opportunity he has given me to be able to work out. Then, I wondered how many people my age can actually work out every day and set pretty audacious fitness goals each year. I know at some point I’m going to slow down (and maybe I’m starting to already), but at least it gives me something to wake up to every day. And I’m probably one of the few people who’s excited to get to 60 years old! Not only does it get me into another age group (where I might actually win a running/road race), but it also gets me a senior discount at most golf courses in the country. And since I walk 9 or 18 holes, it’ll be even cheaper for me to play! And I don’t see retirement happening anytime soon, as long as my mind continues to be sharp and I’m energized to serve others, exploring ways to explore and express purpose and meaning.
