Question: What new hobbies would you love to try?

Answer: Right now, I’m only focused on learning one new hobby – pickleball. I’ve heard so many great things about playing the game and I believe that it’s something that I could get addicted to. At the start of the year, I purchased several rackets and balls to start playing – then tennis and golf season started. I think one of these weekends (or maybe even a weeknight), I’m going to go over to one of the parks where people play and just start. I play tennis and racquetball pretty well, so I think I can pick up pickleball fairly easily. I’ve already watched the videos to understand how to play the game (now I know what a “kitchen” is) and how it’s scored, so now it’s time for action. I know my wife Rebecca wants to learn as well, but she’s not as dedicated to learning a new sport like me. I want to learn as much as I can so I can become pretty decent at it, perhaps even competitive in the sport. I’ve won awards/trophies in tennis, running, biking, bowling, and golf, so it would be fun to pick something up in pickleball as well. To be honest, I don’t like to try too many things at once – just makes life too complicated. One thing, one focus at a time works for me. And I can’t think of anything else I’d like to try right now, so I’ll just stick to pickleball.

Other Stuff

I had an opportunity to read a really interesting article this morning, this one about the thing you need to give up to have a better future. There were definitely some great points in it, especially that it’s more important to be productive than busy (something that I preach all of the time). You can check it out here:

One of the most important points the author shares – come up with your own definition of success. How would YOU define success? And is your definition based on things external to you or within yourself? Funny thing is…you get to choose that definition, so choose wisely.
