Question: What is the number one thing that, if you stopped doing today, would have the biggest positive impact on your life?

Answer: There are a few things that I could stop doing. Here’s a list of a few:

  • Reduce/cut out sugar from diet.
  • Eliminate one workout a week to serve as a day of rest.
  • Stop being a victim (blaming, complaining, and making excuses) and being more of a creator (100% responsibility) for my life.
  • Eliminate/minimize the amount of sarcastic comments.

As we begin the second half of 2021, I know that eliminating sugar would make a huge difference. Instead of eliminating it all together, what I might do is at least limit my sugar intake in the evenings to no more than twice a week, instead of 4-5 days a week. Better yet, when I eat cookies, only eat 5 or 6 cookies, instead of 10-12 cookies.

I think after writing about what I could start doing yesterday and what I can stop doing today, I think I’d like to at least incorporate one new practice into my life – and that’s doing yoga. I think my body is at the point where I need to stretch and gently move my body on a continual basis. I have to try SOMETHING to get a handle on this sleep thing, since I’m averaging about 6 hours a night the past two weeks, with at least three 5 hours or less nights thrown in there these past two weeks. And that’s despite going to bed earlier on a few occasions. I may also consider napping, but that can only happen on the weekends, since I’ll be starting back at work next week.


Other Stuff

So, I listed a few things that I need to change that could make a big improvement in my life. Now, it’s time to get started. I just have to decide which of the activities that I will do to improve my life, find an accountability partner, then do it. What will you choose to do and who will you choose the kick your ass to get it done?
