Question: Do you prefer physical money (cash) or digital money (cards/cryptocurrencies)?
Answer: Although both have their place, I’m big on carrying and saving cash. I know that COVID makes handling cash pretty dicey right now, but I cannot embrace the digital world like most because I worry about systems going down, people stealing your information, etc. My brain thinks back to reading about the great depression and watching the holiday movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” where there was a run on the bank with people pulling out their cash. I have a stash put away just in case a similar thing happens, that might help Rebecca and I get through the day-to-day for a couple of weeks. I do use my card to pay for purchases at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart, and when I go out to dinner. Every now and then, I’ll pay for meals with my card and leave my tip in cash; however sometimes I worry that people might steal the cash tip. It’s such a weird world we live in right now; sometimes, things were just so much easier to deal with 10 years ago. It’s so hard to stay on top of everything, with changes occurring exponentially now. So, give me cold, hard cash any day.
