purpose and excellence

“Waste no more time arguing what a good (wo)man should be. Be one.” – Marcus Aurelius

Over the past three weeks, I’ve facilitated two 3-Day Life Design Catalyst Deep Dives, one 1-Day Bootcamp, and assisted with one 1-Day Workshop. At the same time, I’ve been reading Ryan Holiday’s first two (of four) books focused on virtues: (1) Courage is Calling: Fortune Favors the Brave, and (2)  Discipline is Destiny: The Power of Self Control. (Side note: The Four Virtues of Stoicism are Wisdom, Temperance, Justice, and Courage – more on this in another post.)

Reading these books have helped me define Life Design Catalyst work moving forward. Here’s how:

LDC Motto: Live for Purpose, Strive for Excellence.

Definitions:

  • Purpose (“Be Good. Do Good.”) = Growing Yourself in Service to Others.
  • Excellence (“Be Better. Do Better.”) = Continuous Improvement to Be and Do Your Best.

LDC Questions to Self:

  • Who must I fearlessly become?
  • How will I profoundly serve?
  • Am I giving my best right now?
  • Am I better today than I was yesterday?

There will be more to come, but this is a start!

If you have any thoughts, please share…
