remission and golf gift

The title of the post may seem a little weird, but I had two pieces of good news the past two days. First, on Wednesday, I got the “official” word from my urologist that I am now in prostate cancer remission, which means I am no longer at a “stage” in my recovery. My PSA score is now at 0.01 – which is awesome! In August, 2023 (nine month ago), my PSA was at 28 (a score of 0-4 is normal), so I thank God and all of the wonderful love and support from family and friends! I still get the crazy hot flashes every 1-2 hours throughout the day and night, but I’ll take hot flashes over death ANY DAY!

The second piece of good news is that I got my first HOLE-IN-ONE in golf yesterday! I was at hole #12 at Blair Park Gold Course. The hole was 167 yards away; when I hit the ball, it landed short of the green, so I turned my back and started walking to the cart. My playing partner Fred (who thankfully was watching), saw the ball roll on to the green – and into the cup! Once we got to the green, he wanted to take my picture with the ball and the flag. And it’s funny…about three weeks ago I decided to switch back from one-length clubs to variable length clubs – and just purchased a set of used Cleveland Launcher Halo XL irons to try something new and different. Fourth time out using them – and I get a hole-in-one. I guess they’re staying in the bag! (P.S. Thank you Fred for playing with me and capturing the moment!)

      • I would LOVE to have been there! Dealing with the ramifications of a very heavy tree falling on my roof at the moment! ________________________________
