So today, July 1st, is the start of the second half of 2025. I don’t know about you, but I’m amazed at how fast the year has gone by so far!
As always, it’s time to reflect not only on the past month (June), but on the first half of the year.
Reflection Questions…
- What are you most proud of so far since the start of 2025? What’s been most consistent for you since the start of 2025? What’s different about you since the start of 2025?
- What’s been been most challenging/difficult for you since the start of 2025? What’s something you really hoped to accomplish/achieve but didn’t?
- What was the biggest change, your greatest achievement, and/or your most profound progress made in June 2025?
- If you were being bold and focused, what action could you take in July 2025 that could profoundly impact your life (in a positive way)?
Reflective Answers…
- What are you most proud of so far since the start of 2025? What’s been most consistent for you since the start of 2025? What’s different about you since the start of 2025?
- I’m more than halfway through three of the four fitness/exercise goals that I set at the beginning of the year.
- I competed in 6 events in the Greater High Point Senior Games, finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in all events.
- Compared to last year, I had a good spring tennis season.
- Rebecca and I have taken trips to Carolina Beach (March) and Sapphire, NC (June).
- I’ve noticed that I seem to have a more calming/relaxed attitude playing sports than in the past. The intense competitive spirit that I used to have is now replaced with an almost cavaliere approach. I seem to be able to let go of errors and mistakes (especially in sports) a lot easier now than in the past.
- What’s been been most challenging/difficult for you since the start of 2025? What’s something you really hoped to accomplish/achieve but didn’t?
- I didn’t get my weight under 200 pounds – too many bags of Doritos and chunky chocolate chip cookies (but I did eat more fruit).
- I had a partial tear of my rotator cuff in might right shoulder in February, then another partial tear in my left arm in April. It’s making golf, tennis, and pickleball a challenge.
- I didn’t start either of my May Challenges – 1-minute planks or 30 chair squats each day.
- What was the biggest change, your greatest achievement, and/or your most profound progress made in June 2025?
- Ivor Buffong and I started our YouTube Channel, “The Catalyst Way.” We set a challenge of 25 videos by the end of 2025.
- I created a new activity, “Personal Identity Credo,” that challenges people to define how they see themselves and how they want others to see them in two words.
- I created a new tool, “The Many Paths to Life Coaching,” where I’ve identified over 120 different life coaching practices with short descriptions.
- Rebecca and I have played golf 3 times in June – 18 holes twice at Red Bird Par 3 Golf Course in Sapphire and 9 holes at Jamestown Park Golf Course.
- I gave a sermon on June 29 titled, “The Essence of Life” at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greensboro. The question to answer was, “How do YOU show up in the world – to make you better, make others better, and/or make the world a little better.
- If you were being bold and focused, what action could you take in July 2025 that could profoundly impact your life (in a positive way)?
- Commit to connect with one school/organization each week to share Life Design Catalyst work.
- Read at least one book a week, so that I can be inspired to create more activities and/or tools.
- Plan two additional trips with Rebecca, one to the beach and one to the mountains. And we’ll have to find a way to make it down to Augusta, Georgia to visit Bethany and Nick at some point.
As a side note, I decided that I’m going to spend less time focused on my 2025 goals and spend more time engaging in activities that allow me to live in the present moment.
