Meditation Music for the week: Whisper to Me: Liquid Mind (8:04) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtZ76W6gDls
Question: What would you do differently if you were to bring a deeper level of authenticity to your work?
Answer: If you define authenticity as being genuine and real, I bring a level of authenticity to my work, almost to a fault. I’m a transparent guy – what you see is what you get. In course evaluations, I will typically a few students share that they liked the fact that I’m “real.” I don’t really hide much; I’m of the mindset that if I want the students to be authentic and real in their conversations with me and their classmates, I have to do the same.
Other Stuff
I watched a really cool TED talk this past weekend; actually, it was not one that I was looking for, but it came up as an options while I was watching a different TED Talk. It’s about the things great teachers do, ending with the ONE thing that great teachers do. To be honest, I would argue it’s the thing that great bosses do, great advisors, great coaches, and great people do. Want to know the answer? Watch the video:
- The One Thing All Great Teachers Do (TED Talk, Nick Fuhrman) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwTpfVQgkU0
He shares a lot of points on what great teachers do, but the ONE that great teachers do is near the end of the talk.
