Relaxing Music for the week: The Joy of Quiet: Liquid Mind (8:47) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tdv1Ct-MLM

Question: In which are of your life have you experienced the least growth recently? What would you like to do about this?

Answer: This will be an interesting answer. When I’ve taken the VIA Character Strengths Assessment (https://www.viacharacter.org/), my lowest character strength of the 24 listed has been forgiveness – over and over again. That’s the one that has been consistent over the many times (and years) I’ve taken this particular self-assessment. I hold grudges for way too long, so much so that it makes it difficult to manage my life at times. But now I realize that by holding the grudge, I’m giving my power away to somebody else. So, my step in the right direction is that I can forgive and let go of the grudge; just know that I will NEVER forget!

Other Stuff

It’s hard to imagine that the beginning of the Fall Semester starts in one month! And most of the classes will be in person, including the NINE “HHS125: What Could I Do With My Life” classes I’m teaching in the Fall. The goal is to empower students to take more control of their education, instead of doing what the institution tells them what to do. One of the basic premises is to get them to think more about the stuff/activities they love to do. The article I’m sharing today is about that very fact – if you’re trying to figure out what to do as a job or as a business, start with something you love. Here’s the link:

For me, it’s creating tools and curriculum that provides the foundation for people to explore and express their purpose. What is it for you?
