Question: If you were 5% more true to yourself and your core values today, what would you do differently?

Answer: Eat at least one more fruit or vegetable every day and spend at least 5 minutes meditating. I thought I would choose getting more sleep, but I’m not sure that’s the thing I need to do right now. This past weekend, I got 7+ hours each night and felt more tired during the day than when I get less sleep. I’m wondering if my set point for sleep is somewhere around 6 to 6.5 hours, not 7+ that I thought was right for me. Last night, I got a little less than six hours, but I feel better than the days this weekend. Anyway, getting more healthy foods in my body could be a HUGE benefit, since I only take in 3-4 per day. And I think a 5-minute mediation in the middle of the day might help me not only get through the ups and downs of the day, but also help with sleep. And to be honest, that’s not a lot of money or time that needs to be committed to both. So, what’s stopping me? NOTHING!!! So today is when I start! By the way, my top core values, ranked in order of importance:

  1. Fitness/Health
  2. Wisdom/Purpose
  3. Personal Growth/Development
  4. Family/Friends/Tribe/Community
  5. Spirituality
  6. Harmony
  7. Autonomy/Independence
  8. Integrity
  9. Accomplishment/Achievement
  10. Accountability/Responsibility
  11. Creativity/Self-Expression

As you can see, my two choices are really focused on my #1 core value. When I went through the value tag activity this morning, the first 5 were easy; the last 6 were really hard to choose, so I just listed them all. I think depending on the day, 6-11 will change. But it was nice to think about them again.

Other Stuff

I just finished reading a great article that describes little things you can do to have an AWESOME life! If that interests you, then you NEED to check out this article by Eric Barker:

Believe it or not, it’s an article that shares that having more “awe” in your life makes life significantly better. How will you get your fill of “awe” in today?
