I know I’m a couple of days late, but I hope that July is off to a great start.
Over the course of the past few days, I’ve been asking my friends to reflect on 2026. Hard to imagine, but we are now into the 2nd half of 2026. With that in mind, I’m going to challenge you with a few questions:
- On a scale from 1 (terrible) to 10 (fantastic), how would you rate the first half of 2026? Why did you give yourself that score?
- Based on the score you gave yourself, what – if anything – do you need to do to make the latter half of 2026 better?
For me, I gave myself a score of 6. On the positive side, I have surpassed the half-way point of all of my fitness goals. In addition, I have definitely played much better tennis this year than last year. And I’ve given myself more opportunities to play golf.
On the negative side, we had to put our dog Laci to sleep a week ago. She was definitely my best friend in the world – and I’m going to miss her. She was such a blessing, introducing us to SO many of our neighbors, including all of my golf buddies! Another positive, my colleague Megan Cayton and I submitted an article about Life Design Catalysts to an online higher education journal.
I’ve also been on an emotional rollercoaster with Life Design Catalyst work. In previous years, my motivation to do Life Design Catalyst work has been off the charts – so far in 2026, it’s been a rollercoaster. Some weeks, I’ve been highly motivated; other weeks, I can’t get motivated to do ANYTHING! I haven’t meditated much and haven’t read many books, which are two of my sources of inspiration.
So, to make the latter half of 2026 better, I will:
- Start reading again, at least two books a month.
- Commit to meditation at least 4 days a week.
- Continue moving forward on my exercise/fitness goals.
I won’t make any commitments to anything else, since I just want to see how things play out with Life Design Catalyst stuff. I do have two workshops in July, so we’ll see if that lights a fire in my belly – or just continue to let it simmer. We’ll see…
Here’s to a happy and fruitful 2nd half of 2026!
