New Meditation Music for the Week: Lullaby for Grown Ups (Liquid Mind) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyqss5-_AFM

Question: What are the most important qualities you aspire to embody in your day-to-day life?

Answer: I don’t know if my list will be qualities, but they are at least the most important things I aspire to embody in my day-to-day life:

  • Make sure to move my body several times EVERY DAY. At least 10,000 steps per day and achieve at least 105,000 per week.
  • To spend at least one hour engaged in Life Design Catalyst work – whether that’s through reading, writing, teaching, facilitating, etc.
  • Be authentic in all my interactions with people, regardless of the format of conversation.
  • To take a least 5-10 minutes every day to meditate and or be mindful/present.
  • This is a new one that I thought of while working out this morning: Keep moving forward.
  • Keep me in the moment – and this is based on one of my inspirational songs by Jeremy Camp. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xb1bx3hYfzg (I’ll post the lyrics below).
  • Don’t focus on expectations, focus on appreciation.

To be honest, the last three items I listed on my list are new – within the last week or two. I’ve been really thinking hard about changing my mindset and attitude toward life – and these three resonate with my tremendously right now.

I would really be interested to hear/see what others would share on this one, since this is about day-to-day living.

Lyrics to Keep Me In The Moment: Jeremy Camp

I’ve been thinking ’bout time
And where does it go
How can I stop my life from passing me by, I don’t know
I’ve been thinking ’bout family and how it’s going so fast
Will I wake up one morning just wishing that I could go back
I’ve been thinking ’bout lately, maybe
I can make a change and let you change me
So, with all of my heart this is my prayer

Singing oh Lord, keep me in the moment
Help me live with my eyes wide open
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me
Singing oh Lord, show me what matters
Throw away what I’m chasing after
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me
Keep me in the moment
Oh, keep me in the moment
Keep me in the moment
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me

When I wake up in the morning
Lord, search my heart
Don’t let me stray, I just wanna stay where you are
All I got is one shot, one try
One go around in this beautiful life
Nothing is wasted when everything’s placed in your hands

Singing oh Lord, keep me in the moment
Help me live with my eyes wide open
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me
Singing oh Lord, show me what matters
Throw away what I’m chasing after
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me
Keep me in the moment
Oh, keep me in the moment (Keep me in the moment)
Keep me in the moment
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me

I’ve been thinking about heaven
And the promise you hold
So, it’s all eyes on you
Until the day you call me home

Singing oh Lord, keep me in the moment
Help me live with my eyes wide open
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me
(I don’t wanna miss, I don’t wanna miss)

Singing oh Lord, show me what matters
Throw away what I’m chasing after
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me
Keep me in the moment
Oh, keep me in the moment
Keep me in the moment
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me

Keep me in the moment (Keep me in the moment)
Oh, keep me in the moment (Keep me in the moment)
Keep me in the moment
‘Cause I don’t wanna miss what you have for me (What you have for me)

  1. Hmmmmm “ Don’t focus on expectations, focus on appreciation.” That’s thought provoking for me today. Especially given pandemic living, being home under one roof 24/7 for nearly a year. My family, especially my teenager, would welcome this reframe. Thanks for the inspiration, Bill!
