Question: When was the last time you went on a date?
Answer: The last time I was on a date was with Rebecca on Saturday night, where we went to a Mexican Restaurant for dinner. That’s the first time she and I have been out since February 2020 – right before COVID hit. The last time I was on a date as a single guy was June 2007, when Rebecca and I met for our first date through Match.com. And it was a tennis date, not one of those boring, uncomfortable dates at a restaurant or bar. Since fitness and health is my #1 value, there wasn’t a better way to date than doing something active. And it’s a way to get to see how a person truly handles life stuff, especially how they handle pressure/adversity. I’ve always had the believe that sports is a microcosm of society – and what better way to experience life than through sports, where you can see the good and bad in people come out. Needless to say, it went well because our second date was also on the tennis court – and it went well. And we’ve been together since then. I know that if I ever decide to date again, I think I would prefer some type of engagement on the “battle field” – which means we’ll have to be engaged in some type of physical activity. Honesty, I have no interest in dating again because it’s such a pain in the ass. Right now, I’m so, so focused on building Life Design Catalyst work and this Center for Transitions and Transformation that dating isn’t even something I’m considering. My work is the love of my life right now – and our dog Laci!
