Question: Where would you never visit and why?
Answer: Right now, I have ZERO interest in traveling outside of the United States; I would never be interested in going to places like Europe, the Middle East, and Asia because of COVID, climate change, and the threat of unrest in each of those countries. There are people who would love to go and travel the world – I am not one of those people. In the past (like 25-30 years ago), I was okay with traveling to different islands, like Bermuda and the Virgin Islands. Now, not so much. I’m not much of a vacationer, to traveling isn’t one of those things that’s high on my list any more. To be honest, there are places in the U.S. that I have no interest in visiting, such as Elkton, Maryland, where they had one of the highest populations of Klan members in the country. There are places all over the country, especially in the South, that still believe in the Confederate Flag and that black people are inferior, so I avoid those places like the plague. It’s a shame, that in 2021, I’m having to worry about where I go, even here in North Carolina, because of the color of my skin. I hope that it gets better for my daughters in their lifetime, since I don’t believe there hope for me and my generation – and those generations before me.
